The Navel piercing is one of the most popular piercings, appreciated for its aesthetic, discreet and trendy appeal. Whether you want to get it to express your style or simply enhance your tummy, it is important to be well-informed before taking the plunge.

At Internal Body Piercing, In Geneva, we offer you professional, secure and personalised support at every stage. Discover everything you need to know about this iconic piercing.

Why choose a navel piercing?

Navel piercings are not simply a fashion accessory. They can also be a form of personal expression, a symbol of freedom, or a gesture to regain self-confidence. They are often associated with summer, crop tops, and shiny jewellery, but can also be very discreet depending on the type of jewellery chosen.

This is a piercing that suits a wide variety of body types. However, everyone is unique, and certain anatomical factors can influence the feasibility or placement of the piercing. During your appointment at Inside, a professional will carefully assess your navel to ensure the piercing will hold well over time.

The piercing procedure at Inside Body Piercing

One Well-done navel piercing relies first and foremost on impeccable hygiene and mastered techniques. Here's how a session works in our Geneva studio:

Welcome and personalised consultation

The piercer will discuss with you, assess your anatomy, and answer your questions.

  • Area preparation Thorough cleaning and disinfection of the navel.

  • Drilling point marking to ensure perfect symmetry.

Needle piercing

Never with a gun, for better healing.

  • Jewellery fitting Generally a titanium or implant-grade surgical steel barbell.

  • Aftercare advice Detailed aftercare instructions.

Scarring: how long does it take and what care is needed?

Unlike other piercings, a navel piercing can take a little longer to heal. Generally, allow between 6 to 12 months for complete healing.

Recommended Care:

  • Clean the area Twice a day with a sterile saline solution (avoid aggressive alcoholic or antiseptic products).

  • Do not touch the jewellery with unwashed hands.

  • Do not twist the jewellery: this can cause micro-tears.

  • Avoid tight or high-waisted clothing at first.

  • Avoid prolonged bathing in swimming pools or hot tubs during the healing phase.

At Inside, we remain at your disposal for any aftercare following your piercing. A follow-up appointment a few weeks later is highly recommended.

What jewellery should you choose for a navel piercing?

The choice of jewellery is essential, not only for style but also for the health of your piercing. At Inside Body Piercing, all jewellery is certified as compliant with European standards, hypoallergenic, and suitable for prolonged wear.

Jewellery available:

  • Navel piercing stud Simple, elegant, ideal for getting started.

  • Jewellery with rhinestones or pendants : to add a touch of flair.

  • 14K or 18K gold jewellery for a high-end style.

Once healing is complete, you can change your jewellery as you wish. Our professionals will help you do so in safe conditions.
